Autobiography of a Rock Star by Douglas
Douglas Autobiography of a Rock Star
I remember the day I wanted to be a star. I was only ten. Me and my sister were playing on the mountains behind my house by a small cliff when suddenly, my sister pushed me and I fell down the cliff. I landed with a thud and got a deep cut on my face. I was marked with a scar. It wasn’t too bad but I knew that I was marked for life. When I got home from hospital, I looked in the mirror. The scar was big but I looked like a real rock star. I loved the look! The TV was on at the same time with an electric guitar solo playing at a concert. I pretended to pick up a guitar and played with the music. The problem was that my mum and dad were not happy with the scar on my face. That was the moment that I wanted to be a rock star, and I also really wanted an electric guitar. I always thought if I ever did become a rock star my band name would be slice and the band name would be something that sounds like The Beatles because I really like The Beatles. When I went to school the next day, everyone was questioning my scar so I got some new friends. My friends liked the idea of being a rock star too, so we liked to talk about it.
I was fifteen when I got my first electric guitar. Every day since I was ten, I begged for one, so I was pleased to have one for my own. When I got my guitar, Jimi Hendrix was mine and my friend’s favourite guitarist. We always practiced in my garage, every day ever since we were all twenty-one. But I won’t go into that story yet. When I did get my electric guitar I would try to play a Jimi Hendrix solo, but my parents said” Play something easier for just now.” So I did and gradually got better. When I got a little older I could do really fancy stuff and could I play a lot better- I could even play behind my back.
Me and my five friends started a band called The Cockroaches. We got together because we all got the instruments. Drew got a bass guitar. Logan got microphone and he also was a dancer. Jack was the background guitarist. Kyle was the drummer and Ethan was the dancer. We got the band name from The Beatles because we like them. So once we had our band name, we had to get our stage names. Our stage names are DJ Ross which is Drew, Tango who is Jack, Egan who is Ethan, Gogs the Frogs who is Logan ad Kiley Whiley who is Kyle. We love to go on walks and go diving. We climb mountains and admire the views. We loved our hippie van and drove around in it a lot,we also camped in it on the countryside.
We had a big tour around the world. It was so much fun. Sometimes we went on boats, planes and cars and trains. Our biggest and best gig ever was on the Great Wall of China. The scenery was great and the crowd was screaming and shouting. People were crying, which was pretty sad, but it was a really fun gig. We sang ‘Run for the Mountains’. It is a really fun song to sing. Our first hit single was
Just now we are in Canada in a famous recording studio, practicing our new hit singles and getting ready for our big concert, performing in front of millions and millions of people. Even the President will be there. So we’re looking forward to that. The concert is raising money for the city of New York because there is so much rubbish lying around there , that it will cost $1,000,000 to clean up. Also an oil rig caught fire off shore and there’s oil everywhere. The animals are black with oil. Now we need to save the poor little things—ad the big things too—so that will cost another $1,000,000. After that we’re going to go up into the mountains and then we’re going sailing. So we’re going to have a pretty good year.
Oh and remember to come to my concerts!

Well done, Douglas! I like the image of you and your band driving around in a hippy van, camping. You still have to complete the sentence “Our first hit single was…..” But other than that, I think you’re done and you’ve done it well!
